Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what information is processed when you use nicksty.com, why, and what choices you have. You do not need an account to use Nicksty, and most tools run entirely in your browser.

Who is responsible

This policy covers the website nicksty.com ("Nicksty", "we"). For any question or request about your personal data, write to contact@nicksty.com.

Scope

The policy applies to all language versions of nicksty.com (English, Turkish and Spanish). The language you read the site in does not decide which privacy law applies to you; that depends mainly on where you are. It does not cover other websites we link to.

Text you type into the tools

Fancy text conversion, symbol and invisible-character copying, word and character counting, the CPS test and the instant name suggestions are calculated in your browser. The text you enter there is not sent to our server or to any third party.

What we process

Website delivery and security logs

Every time your browser loads a page, our hosting provider Vercel receives technical request data: IP address, requested address, date and time, browser and device information (user agent) and the referring page. It is needed to deliver the site, protect it against abuse and investigate errors. Vercel keeps these logs for a limited period that depends on its service plan; we do not keep separate copies or combine them with other data.

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you accept analytics cookies, we load Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics 4. Google then receives information about your visit: pages and tools viewed, page title, referring site, scrolling, clicks on links to other sites and file downloads, device type, browser, screen size, language, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and a random identifier stored in the _ga cookies. Google Signals and advertising features are off. Without your consent none of this is loaded or sent. Event data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics property (Google offers 2 or 14 months); aggregated reports can be kept longer.

AI name suggestions (currently switched off)

The "Ask AI" option of the gamertag and clan name tools is not active on nicksty.com at the moment. When it is enabled, pressing it sends the chosen style, the game length limit, the page language and the optional theme word you typed to our server, which asks Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini) for suggestions. To limit abuse, our server counts requests per visitor for one hour using a salted, truncated hash of the IP address; the raw IP address is not stored. Identical requests and their results are cached for 24 hours. Do not type personal information into the theme field.

Emails you send us

If you write to contact@nicksty.com we receive your email address, the name you use and your message. We use them only to answer and keep them as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up questions, after which we delete them unless the law requires us to keep them.

Storage on your device

Some settings, such as the copy sound or your CPS best score, are saved only in your browser. They are listed in the Cookie Policy.

Who receives data

We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising.

  • Vercel Inc. (USA): hosting and content delivery.
  • Google: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, only after consent. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, elsewhere by Google LLC. How Google uses data from sites that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
  • Google Cloud (Vertex AI) and, if used, our database provider Upstash: only when the AI feature is enabled.
  • Our email service provider, for messages you send us.
  • Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose data.

International transfers

Vercel and Google process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Türkiye, the transfer relies on the safeguards in these providers' data processing terms, such as standard contractual clauses, or on an adequacy decision where one applies. For visitors in Türkiye, transfers abroad are subject to Article 9 of the KVKK.

How long data is kept

  • Hosting logs: the limited period set by Vercel's service plan.
  • Google Analytics: the retention period set in our Analytics property (2 or 14 months for event data).
  • Analytics cookies on your device: up to 2 years, or until you withdraw consent or clear them.
  • Your cookie choice: 12 months on your device, then we ask again.
  • AI rate-limit counters: 1 hour; cached AI results: 24 hours.
  • Emails: as long as needed to handle your request.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS (with HSTS). We have no user accounts or passwords, keep the data we process to a minimum and never store raw IP addresses for rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the data we handle.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time through "Cookie settings" in the footer; this does not affect processing before the withdrawal.

In Türkiye, Article 11 of the KVKK gives you the right to learn whether your data is processed, to request information about it, to learn its purpose and whether it is used accordingly, to know the recipients in Türkiye and abroad, to request correction or deletion and the notification of these to recipients, to object to a result against you arising solely from automated analysis, and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

Send your request to contact@nicksty.com. We answer within the time limits set by law (for example one month under the GDPR and 30 days under the KVKK). Because we do not run accounts, we may need information that lets us find your data, such as the date of an email you sent us.

You can also complain to a supervisory authority: in Türkiye the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK), in the EEA the authority of your country, in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

Visitors in other regions

If you live in a US state with a privacy law (for example California), please note that we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Visitors in other countries, for example in Latin America, can exercise the rights their local law gives them by writing to contact@nicksty.com.

Children

Nicksty is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Where local law requires a parent's consent for analytics (for example below 16 in some European countries), children should leave analytics off or ask a parent. If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Advertising

Nicksty does not show ads at the moment and uses no advertising cookies.

If we add Google ads (AdSense) in the future, we will update this policy and the Cookie Policy beforehand and, for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, ask for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform. Google and its partners would then use cookies to show and measure ads; how Google uses this information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage ad personalisation across Google services at https://myadcenter.google.com/. That setting is separate from the cookie settings on nicksty.com, which only control what this site may store and load.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our processing changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change needs new consent, for example a new analytics or advertising service, we will ask you again.
