How to measure your clicking speed (CPS) accurately
CPS stands for Clicks Per Second. Whether you are testing a new gaming mouse switch, practicing PvP combat in Minecraft, or warming up your APM before a shooter match, our timer runs entirely client-side in your browser with zero network lag.
Select a test duration (1s, 5s, 10s, or 30s)
Use the 1s mode to measure peak burst speed, the 5s or 10s standard modes for realistic gaming combat, or the 30s mode to test finger stamina.
Click the test pad or press Space / Enter to start
The countdown does not start until your very first click or Space / Enter keypress inside the test pad ("Click here to start the test"). Keep clicking as fast as you can while watching the live CPS, Clicks, and Time left counters.
Check your personal best and click "Try again"
When the timer reaches 0.0s, the pad displays your final CPS score and saves your personal record for that duration ("Your best (5s): ... CPS") in your browser’s localStorage. Click "Try again" to start a new run.
Clicking techniques compared: Regular, Butterfly, Jitter, and Drag
Regular Clicking (4–7 CPS) vs. Butterfly Clicking (12–20+ CPS)
Regular clicking uses a single index finger in a relaxed posture and averages 5 to 7 CPS. Butterfly clicking alternates your index and middle fingers rapidly on a wide left mouse button; on gaming mice with low debounce time, it can register 15 to 20+ CPS.
Jitter Clicking (10–14 CPS) and Drag Clicking notes
Jitter clicking tenses your forearm muscles to vibrate your finger onto the switch at 10–14 CPS—take frequent breaks to avoid wrist strain. Drag clicking slides a finger across a matte mouse switch so friction triggers rapid multi-clicks, though some competitive game servers flag extreme drag-click bursts via anti-cheat.

Frequently asked questions
›What does CPS mean?
CPS is clicks per second: the number of clicks you make divided by the test duration. Longer tests measure stamina; 1-second tests measure burst speed.
›Where does click speed matter?
Click speed matters most in games where attacks or actions are tied to clicks, such as PvP in Minecraft or clicker games. Aim and timing usually matter more in shooters.
›How can I click faster?
Players use techniques such as jitter clicking and butterfly clicking. Rest your hand between tries. Auto-clickers and macros are banned on many servers.
