How to copy and paste an invisible character or blank space

Not every blank-looking character is a normal space. Standard keyboard spaces (U+0020) are classified as whitespace in Unicode, so games and social platforms automatically strip them from the edges of nicknames or collapse multiple spaces into one. The four characters above look blank on screen but are classified in Unicode as a Korean Hangul letter filler, a Braille symbol, or zero-width format controls.

  1. Choose the blank character that matches your platform

Use U+3164 (Hangul Filler) for PUBG Mobile and Free Fire nicknames, U+2800 (Braille Pattern Blank) for Instagram bios and WhatsApp blank messages, or U+200B (Zero Width Space) / U+200C (Zero Width Non-Joiner) for zero-width breaks.

  2. Set "How many" (1 to 20) and click "Copy"

Use the "How many" counter (−1 / +1) at the top to choose between 1 and 20 characters, then click the "Copy" button on any of the four cards to copy that exact number in one tap.

  3. Paste into your game or bio and verify with the inspector

Paste the clipboard contents into your game rename field, Discord profile, or chat box. If you copied a nickname from another player and want to see which invisible character they used, paste it into the "Test your blank character" box.

Official Unicode names and differences: U+3164 vs U+2800 vs U+200B vs U+200C

U+3164 — Hangul Filler (ㅤ) — Letter category (Lo)

Official Unicode name: HANGUL FILLER (code point U+3164). In the Unicode standard, U+3164 belongs to General Category "Lo" (Letter, other) as a Korean Hangul composition filler. Because game input validators check whether a character is a letter rather than whitespace, PUBG Mobile and Free Fire accept U+3164 as a visible-width blank gap between words or clan tags.

U+2800 — Braille Pattern Blank (⠀) — Symbol category (So)

Official Unicode name: BRAILLE PATTERN BLANK (code point U+2800). It represents the empty 8-dot cell from the Braille Patterns block (General Category "So" — Symbol, other). It has a fixed visible width and is rarely stripped by social media bio sanitizers, making it ideal for centering Instagram bio lines, keeping empty paragraphs in TikTok captions, or serving as a backup when a game blocks U+3164.

U+200B Zero Width Space & U+200C Zero Width Non-Joiner — Format category (Cf)

Official Unicode names: ZERO WIDTH SPACE (U+200B) and ZERO WIDTH NON-JOINER (U+200C), both in General Category "Cf" (Format control). Unlike U+3164 and U+2800, they have zero visual width—they do not create a visible gap. Instead, they sit invisibly between two characters to prevent automatic link detection, stop script ligatures from merging, or split words without adding visible space.

Why a platform strips or rejects an invisible character

  • Leading/trailing trim filters (Riot ID & web forms): Platforms like Riot Games (League of Legends / Valorant) explicitly strip or reject U+3164, U+2800, and U+200B at the very start or end of a name. Place the character strictly between two visible letters (for example, KARAㅤツ).
  • Blank-only profile names: Most games and social platforms reject a display name made 100% of invisible characters if no visible letter is present, or their anti-abuse filter updates to block standalone U+200B strings.
  • Character limit budget: Every invisible character—even zero-width U+200B—counts as 1 full Unicode code point toward game limits (12 in Free Fire, 14 in PUBG Mobile, 16 in Riot ID).
  • How the 29-code-point inspector works: Pasting any string into "Test your blank character" highlights hidden code points in purple with their exact U+XXXX hex code and official Unicode name so you can spot unwanted control characters.

Frequently asked questions

›Why doesn’t the normal spacebar work in PUBG Mobile or Free Fire nicknames?

The standard keyboard space (U+0020) belongs to the Unicode Space_Separator (Zs) category, which mobile game rename validators strip or block. Characters like U+3164 (Hangul Filler, category Letter) and U+2800 (Braille Pattern Blank, category Symbol) look empty on screen but are not classified as whitespace.

›What is the difference between U+3164, U+2800, U+200B, and U+200C?

U+3164 (Hangul Filler) and U+2800 (Braille Pattern Blank) both have visible horizontal width and create a blank gap between letters. U+200B (Zero Width Space) and U+200C (Zero Width Non-Joiner) have zero width—they sit invisibly between characters without creating a visible gap.

›Do invisible characters count toward game character limits?

Yes. Every invisible character—whether wide (U+3164, U+2800) or zero-width (U+200B, U+200C)—uses 1 full Unicode code point in Free Fire (12 max), PUBG Mobile (14 max), and Riot ID (16 max).

›How can I check if a copied nickname contains hidden characters?

Paste the text into the "Test your blank character" box at the bottom of the tool. Our inspector scans against 29 invisible Unicode code points and highlights every hidden character with its exact U+XXXX code and official name.
